Life is Good

Life is good for the Lackeys. We're watching Sim grow and marveling each day at his new 'steps'. Whenever he wants to do something, he'll say, "Yeah. Okay." =) So cute.

We're exploring our options for next year. Does God want us to return to Ben Lippen? Or does he have something else in mind?

What a cutie!

Sim is feeling better. Here is such a cute shot of him.. When we're on campus, we sometimes let him ride standing up in his carseat (like this). He is so cute. He hangs over the top and stares out the front window.

Pray for us!

Our Simmy boy is sick! He's running a temperature and has a cold. And the poor lil tike just don't feel well.

On a positive note, before he got sick, he took his first crawl! Such an over achiever. And tonight he said dada. =)

My GQ Man

My neighbor, Allison, and I have fun picking out clothes and dressing Sim up for photo shoots. Dad's not the only one that likes to get behind the camera! ;) This is one outfit we picked out.

Sim has been practicing his "Indian" yodel today. He gets his hand in his mouth and wiggles his fingers. Its so cute!! We love our Simmy boy. He's also been practicing his crawling. He did two knee movements consecutively today. But then he gives up and rolls over. Rolling is his preferred method of travel. I left him playing in the living room for a few minutes and when I came back into the room I couldn't see him! I found that he had rolled under the end table. Silly boy! I have to watch him like a hawk these days. But I don't mind. He's so cute that watching him is a joy!

Did I mention that he has his first tooth? It came in last week. So now we can officially say that he is "toothed and dangerous". That tooth hurts! Him and me. =)

Bath Time

Isn't he the cutest?? Andrew calls this Sim's personal Hot Tub! He just kicks back and relaxes. Bath Time has become a personal favorite for Andrew. He enjoys the quality time with Simeon. Afterwards, Mom wraps him in a big fluffy towel and gets him ready for bed. Together as a family we have story time and then Simmy goes down for the night.
We have been attempting to get Sim to sleep through the night which he was extremely reluctant to do on his own. Its hard to listen to him cry but he seems to be much happier during the day when he sleeps through the night. Not that he has accomplished this yet. He is consistently waking up at 1am and crying for up to an hour. Please pray for us! Hopefully tonight will be the night.
Here's another funny bath pic of Sim.... It looks like he's saying, "DAD! I'm in the bath!!!" =)

The Lackeys

Okay... who am I kidding? I said this blog is about the Lackey's but really... its about Simeon. I mean all you have to do is ask the grandparents...
they will tell you the Lackey's are not the Lackey's without Simmy Boy! But just to satisfy the curious here are a few brief facts about Mr. and Mrs. Lackey...

Mr. Lackey aka Andrew grew up in Colombia South America as a missionary kid. He graduated from Columbia International University with a Masters in TEFL in May of 2004. Currently, he teaches ESL at Ben Lippen and serves as the illustrious house dad of 3B.

Mrs. Lackey aka Heather lived in NY state until her parents joined Wycliffe Bible Translators when she was 10. At that point, she moved to various points in the US including Texas and North Carolina. Mr. Lackey will tell you that she received her "MRS" degree in 2001 when she married him. She is still working on all other degrees. =)

And now the best for last.... Young Simeon Lackey aka Simmy Boy aka Sim joined us on April 3, 2005. He is a strong little man with a great smile and an even greater laugh!! He is currently working on his crawling ability. We will keep you posted.
